Photograph of Robert Creeley and family. From left to right: Tom Creeley (Robert’s son from his marriage to Ann), Kate Creeley, Bobbie [Creeley] Louise Hawkins, Robert Creeley, Kirsten Hoeck (Bobbie’s daughter from her marriage to Olaf Hoeck), and Sarah Creeley. The photograph was taken in Tijuana probably in 1969. Tom Creeley remembers that it was taken by “someone with a shop nearby with an old handheld Graflex.” This version of the photograph is in the form of a serigraph by William Katz who included it in A Wall, published by Bouwerie Editions / Edition Domberger in 1969. Bouwerie Editions was William Katz’s small press and he published several other wonderful small edition books with Robert Creeley including Mary’s Fancy, in 1970, Notebook in 1972, and The Class of ’47 (drawn and illustrated by Joe Brainard) in 1973.
